Josef Glassl
In my collection:
The lineage of Josef Glassl is deeply interwoven with the historic golden age of brass manufacturing in Graslitz, Bohemia. Glassl established his independent instrument manufacturing workshop in 1898, operating successfully through the turbulent decades of the early 20th century. Following the structural upheavals of World War II, the independent family business officially ceased to exist in September 1945, when its facility and assets were merged into the newly formed AMATI manufacturing cooperative. From a genealogical perspective, it is highly probable that Josef was the brother of fellow brass manufacturer Egid Glassl, who operated his own successful workshop during the exact same era in nearby Komotau.
