Brother Alexandre opened a shop in New York in 1909, selling Selmer clarinets and mouthpieces, but the USA company was sold to George Bundy in 1927.
In 1928, two brothers Ben and Lew Davis started Selmer UK, focusing on licensing, importing and distribution.
