BM Symphonic

The origins of the BM Symphonic brand are deeply rooted in the post-war German brass-making tradition. In 1948, the master craftsmen Böhm and Meinl established their company in Geretsried, Bavaria, quickly earning an exceptional international reputation for manufacturing high-quality low brass instruments, particularly their world-class tubas. Their expertise was so widely respected that they were contracted to produce premium instruments for the legendary American York Band Instrument Company.

A major turning point occurred in 1992 when the family business was purchased by the founders' grandson, master builder Walter Nirschl. Under his innovative leadership, in 1996 the company launched the prestigious 'BM Symphonic' line, a specialized series of professional-grade brass instruments. Combining decades of inherited familial knowledge with modern precision engineering, this high-end production lineage successfully carries the historic legacy of Böhm & Meinl into the contemporary music world, where the brand continues to thrive today.
