Anton Hüller

About the maker:

This instrument is a traditional B♭ Tenorhorn manufactured by the respected maker Anton Hüller in Graslitz, Böhmen (Bohemia). Interestingly, I initially purchased this piece under the assumption that it was a standard euphonium, only to discover upon its arrival that it features the noticeably more compact and slender profile characteristic of the German-style tenorhorn. Acoustically, the horn is tuned to the historic High Pitch B♭ standard.

Structurally, the instrument is defined by its striking visual character; the deep, rich natural patina developed over the decades gives the brass a beautiful, authentic vintage aesthetic that I absolutely love. While the horn remains somewhat playable in its current state, its mechanical performance and airflow would benefit significantly from a proper valve alignment.
