This B♭ pocket trumpet, bearing the trade name Swingplanck, was manufactured around 1987 and stands as a highly personal piece of memorabilia within the history of my collection. The instrument entered my life in the early 1990s as a lighthearted gimmick gift for my birthday during my teenage years. While the pocket trumpet is technically functional and does play, its overall construction and build quality were never particularly high. Over the years of ownership, some small components detached from the body due to fragile manufacturing joints and had to be carefully soldered back into place. As my collection evolved toward historically significant and rare brasses, I felt this modern, mass-produced instrument was no longer a particularly interesting or visually beautiful item to display, leading me to sell it to a new home.
