F. Van Cauwelaert

This is a flugelhorn in B♭, manufactured by the historic Belgian maker F. van Cauwelaert. While there is not much documentation or additional history available for this specific specimen, the horn itself remains a solid instrument. Acoustically, it still plays quite well and delivers a good sound. This performance is especially impressive considering that the valve ports are currently not perfectly aligned, a mechanical discrepancy that surprisingly has not ruined the horn's core playability.
