J. Persy "Le Triomphe" (±1920's)

About the maker:

Bearing the serial number 1569, this B♭ cornet was manufactured by the respected Belgian maker J. Persy out of Brussels. Released under the prestigious model name "Le Triomphe", this instrument stands as a beautifully preserved example of mid-20th-century European brass craftsmanship.

This cornet has survived alongside its original protective storage case and features its rare, factory-supplied extra slide.
The inclusion of this extra slide allowed musicians to seamlessly convert the instrument to play in a traditional High Pitch standard, making it highly versatile for players transitioning between different military, brass, or orchestral ensembles of the era.
Unlike many instruments of its vintage that suffer from structural leaks or mechanical friction, this horn has maintained excellent internal compression. It remains in good playing condition, offering a responsive feel and a bright, characteristic tone today.
